Doctrine - What We Believe

Doctrinal Positions                         bible and cross free religious clipart

In doctrine and in practice we are conservative Arminian-Wesleyan persuasion. The following summarize the major points of our doctrinal position.

THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments (all 66 books) to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.  Every part of the Bible, as originally written, was inspired by God and was and is without error. We believe the Bible is the complete revelation of God's plan for the salvation of man and the divine and final authority for all Christian belief and practice.

GOD
There is but one living and true God. We believe that God is an Eternal Personal Being of absolute knowledge, infinite power, wisdom, and goodness, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, perfect in life and conduct, and in His vicarious death.  We believe in His atonement for the whole human race, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, in His ascension into heaven where at the right hand of God making intercession for mankind, and His personal future return to this earth in power and glory.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who came from the Father and the Son, to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; to regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, cleanse and empower the believer for godly living and service.

LIFE AFTER DEATH
We believe in the conscious existence of the dead, the resurrection of the
body, the final judgment, the everlasting life of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the wicked.

Man
We believe that man was created by God. He did not evolve from lower forms of life or matter. Man, because of willful rebellion and disobedience brought upon himself the physical and spiritual death and that he will be personally responsible to God at the age of accountability.

THE WAY OF SALVATION
We believe that man's return to God is only through the enabling of the Holy
Spirit.  We believe that both repentance and faith are conditions for obtaining the new birth. We believe that born-again christians are called to be cleansed from a remaining sinful nature and filled with the Holy Spirit through a definite confession of inward sinfulness, a presentation of oneself as a living sacrifice, and an obedient faith in the promised cleansing through the atoning blood. That the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.

The Church
We believe that the church is God's ordained institution composed of all who believe on Jesus Christ for salvation.

THE LIFE OF HOLINESS AND SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD
We believe the Bible clearly teaches the Christian is to a life of righteousness and good works and to a separation from such practices, pleasures, pursuits, and plans as will weaken the heart and mind, hinder their testimony for Christ, and have an adverse effect on the church. We are in the world, not of the world.
